Total Exchange Put/Call Option Ratio Graph with TrendsThe Total Exchange Put/Call data has been graphed from 2003 to current time. There have been trend lines applied and it is very visible as to where we have been and where we are headed. The Total Exchange Put/Call option ratio is even when we are at 1, call option volume is equal to put option volume. When we fall below 1 the call option volume exceeds the put option volume. When we rise above 1 the put option volume exceeds the call option volume. When you compare the Total Exchange Put/Call Option Ratio Graph with the stock market you can see the inverse tracking. This is because as the stock market rises people are buying more call options to try and make money on the upside. When the market falls people start to buy put options to make money on the down side. Can you use the Total Exchange Put/Call Option Ratio Graph to determine where the market may be headed? We can definitely see when the market is over-bought or over-sold by looking at the put/call option graph. It is really the contrarian take on the market that yields itself to this type of analysis. We are not here to predict the market we just want give you some tools to help make a better decision before you make your next trade. We also do not suggest using put/call options as a trading tool, this data is for giving an edge to the individual trader. Total Exchange Put/Call Option Data Graph 2003 to ~9/2009
